    Identify my snake

I found a first year garter almost frozen, underneath of an old barn.

So I Put him in a cage, and now he is doing well. After he came out of burmation(?) He started eating and all is well but IDK the Breed Or type.
How do I put in pics?

If it doesn't have orange or red spots on it's flanks, and you found it in your area, it's a northwestern garter snake. I mean, if it doesn't look like this pic, then it's a northwestern. (Thamnophis ordinoides).

I can't seem to find the thread that tells you how to post pics. Anyone else know where it is?

Well now you know what your snake is. Thamnophis ordinoides. They are usually quite fond of worms and slugs. Some won't eat much of anything else. Standard garter care applies. These guys can be active at much cooler temperatures than most garter snakes, and can survive colder temperatures than most. They are usually the first reptiles out of hibernation in the spring, and the last ones still out in the fall.
