Hi,
What a great forum to learn about garter snakes! Now my burgeoning skills at snake care can catch up to my love for my newly rescued garter, Sugar. He had his third shed a few days ago, hence my discovery of this site when I had a few questions..
Got him/her(?) in Dec. along with a three legged kitten (from different sources). I had my first snake dream two nights ago: I found an earthworm in my garden and gave it to sugar who happily gobbled it up

My school started an educational science lab for the children but most of the creatures died. Sugar was offered to me when they discontinued the lab since they all know i am the animal lover since I rescue feral cats. He is very social so popular with museum visitors (people ask to see him eat) and has hundreds of children fans at school where he is my visiting class pet.
