    Good Memories

It has been almost a year since I have fed any turkey heart or liver to my snakes.
Today I cooked a turkey and held those items back for my biggest group.
They must have remembered eating these items because there was no hesitation at all.
A couple of new snakes to this group mouthed the food for a moment than swollowed it down.
Thanksgiving dinner came early for them this year
After eating they all fell asleep on the couch.

I'll have to try to find somewhere to get some turkey heart and liver. We don't do poultry in our house on account of Char being allergic to meat, and poultry sends her into anaphylaxis. I'm not sure that the heart and liver are packed into the giblet bag in supermarket turkeys over here, but if they are most people I know just chuck out the giblets - Christmas could come early for our little ones.
If they aren't in the giblet bag I'm sure there's a butcher near by who may be happy to sell me a few organs that they normally bin.

    Re: Good Memories

Tonight I located a store(Meat Market) that stocks turkey hearts. I picked up a couple pounds and they stay I can get another 5 pounds next week.
The garters will have a special meal tomorrow.

That's awesome...I keep learning all these new things that garters can eat...now I know turkey hearts...there is a meat market near here. I will have to go over there and see if they have turkey hearts.
