I mentioned that my fall break fell in the middle of a fall salamander run earlier. I just want to say that after handling about a billion tiny salamander spawn (why I never bring my camera with me on these outings I will never know) I became my snakes' favorite person ever.
Well, I'm pretty sure I was their favorite anyway, but when I walked into the snake room covered in salamander goop Houdini went nuts. Not being able to see what was going on, he kept looking in my my pockets and jacket hood for tasty amphibian treats. From now on when my friends ask me for tips on hand-taming snakes, I think I'll just tell them to go buy a salamander.
