    Feeding Success!!!

I am so relieved! As you may have seen from my other thread, I just got a wild caught baby Wandering Garter Snake and I was worried about what to feed it. Well, I got a frozen pinkie and cut the head off and offered it to the little bugger. It took him a while, but he ate it! I was shocked he ate the very first thing I tried to feed him!

I feel much better now. If he didn't eat for me, I was going to have to release him. Now I'm not so worried.

    Nice job.
If it can eat the head it can probably eat the whole thing
    That's a good start.

Especially if you split the pinkie lengthwise almost all the way, so that you get two halves that stay connected.

That is wonderful to hear! It is so nice when they eat what you want them to on the first try!
Mine can be little pills that way. There are only a few things that they both equally like. One is fine with something, but the other won't eat it. My female is a bit more picky than the male though.
