my garter

Here is a picture of my blue striped garter. This picture was taken with my phone so her colors are a little washed out.


I tried to get some better pictures while holding her but she apparently really doesn't like to have her picture taken. She puffed her head out like a cobra and bit the camera and my hands at least 20 times. I also feel that I may need another shower. Despite all that she is an interesting snake to watch.
Does anyone else keep similis? Do they ever calm down?

Similis are notoriously "spirited" , But I like that in a snake.

I had one once, and she was a pretty nervous snake

i had one similis ... was my first garter. had her 3 days ... opened the terrarium to change the water and this silly thing just jumped out of the terrarium and i found her a week after that ... my cat was playing "catch the snake" with her ...

these snakes are nervous and jumpy as hell ... be carefull with her

and i know that few of them never calm down with their age ... have seen this snakes jumping over some tables in hamm when a vendor opened a box with 2 of them in it ... nasty lil snakes, but beautiful.
