    anyone else here from bc??
    ive only been able to find common garter snakes here. but i no we have many more species around.

    It depends on where in BC you're looking. You could potentially have: Puget Sound Garters, Valley Garters, Red-Sided Garters, Wandering Garters, Northwestern Garters. The ranges don't necessarily all overlap either though so it's hard to say without knowing a more specific area.

    Just an FYI and it probably doesn't apply in this case, but the new BC regs prohibit keeping or collection of any of the native species. There's even some grey area regarding the keeping of any garters but the new stuff is so badly written it seems that their intent was just the native species.

    i really want a puget sound garter though
