    Shiny new skin!

Last night, right after I signed off the forum at around 11 pm, Stewie and Midnight both shed their skins at the same time! It was so cool to watch them literally crawl out of the old skins. Today we measured, and Midnight is almost a decent 22 inches. Stewie is bigger but her skin was torn, so I did not get it all.

    Pretty new snakes!

Just one of the perks to having Garters. Make sure Stewie completes the shed. If the tail doesn't complete he could lose part of the tail. If you need to, hold the tail section under some warm water and remove the shed.

Stewie did complete her shed, it is just stuck in one of the plants. That was what I meant by torn. But it is good to know that all of it needs to be complete or there will be problems. Both snakes are shiny new now!

One or both ate pinkies yesterday. Do they tend to get hungry after a shed?

It appears that my two are also following in those tracks. It's ok Steve, we think Stewie is a girl, I'll have to get a better picture for everybody to clue me in
