    Colourforms

    ok so im obviously a complete noob to garters, ive noticed there are diverse colourforms in these snakes, i was wondering if they are all sepreate spp under the thamnophis genus or if alot are CB morphs. also pictures of the many different coloured garters would be great .

    thanks

    Steve.

    There are a few intentionally bred colour morphs, about 35 species currently recognized, about 50 subspecies and countless wild morphs.

    sp. = species
    ssp. = subspecies
    spp. = all or several species of the same genus

    You will find quite a few photos here...

    Any member can add to this library, if they have good, clear photographs that illustrate the species/sub-species.
