    Herping in Ianville

It was a great day at Ian's this morning. Knowing his red radix is secure and safe was a priority.
After that we did some herping.
This little female was under that bark you see in the background. She was a musk slinger. That's not mud on my hand. What you don't see is the poop up my arm. When she started slinging it my daughter Gabby said "I'm out of here" What a wimp.

This young male had a few cactus needles that needed removed. One was in his right eye socket.
I think I will develope a computer facial recognition program to aid in sexing radixes. Look at this males face. Typical male attitude look.

Well, if you had cactus needles in your eye, wouldn't you be grumpy too?

Glad I don't have cactus here, only nettles and pricker bushes. Oh yeah, my personal favorite, poison ivy.

I would take cactus any day over that list! Luckily poison ivy and oak don't affect me but boy do I hate nettle!

I love the forks on that tongue Steve! They look like they are as wide as the head.

I guess it's all in what we're used to. Cactus is alien to me but I know what the nettle and prickers feel like. I really HATE poison ivy though. Good remedy for nettle is rhubarb and aloe, whatever you have handy. Poison ivy, I just take a hairbrush too. I can't stand that stuff. Or my Mom used to have lye soap.

I didn't notice that. Maybe it was the musk in my eyes.

Sure blame it on the poop! It always gets the shaft......., I should probably stop there.
