Re: One of my favortes.. Not Garter tho sorry..

What sort of info were you looking for regarding his tail spots?

Judging from the ground color and speckling, if he is a BCI, I would guess Nicaraguan, but that is by no means definitive. A scale count would be more accurate...

Get a freshly shed skin. At mid-body, cut the ventral side, open the skin and lay it flat. Starting right next to the ventral scutes, count one row of scales across the body.

If your snake has 21 or more saddles from the first saddle on the neck to the one directly over the cloaca(not counting tail spots), it is a BCI. If it is a BCI and has 89 or more scales at mid body, it is a Colombian. A BCI with less than 89 scales at mid-body *could* be Nicaraguan or Central American, but you would have to google for an exact scale count on those localities, as I don't know it off the top of my head...

20 saddles or less, using the above method, puts your snake in the BCC class, alongside Guyana and Suriname boas...

Of course...all of that is assuming that your snake is a pure line boa, either BCI or BCC, not an intergrade...
