Best to keep the fuzzies for other snakes. Garters have a tough time digesting fur. Like, I *think* they don't... Not postive, but I think that's what I've read here.

Watch your female; that's a LOT to get down at once. Now's not the best time of year - due to snakes naturally slowing down, if they they don't brumate - to fill a snake up like that.

Make sure you've got good warm temps for her to gravitate to so she can digest that huge meal.

Smaller meals, on a more frequent basis, are better than huge meals.

    Re: wow

Both of my adults, male and female, pound fuzzies with no ill effects. Sly's main diet for at least a year has been fuzzies... pinkies when I run out of fuzzies... and the occasional live fish. My fuzzies aren't really very fuzzy, tho, so who knows

Ms. Ella hasn't been here very long, but has been eating like there's no tomorrow! I don't know if she's bulking up for winter or what, but I swear she'd eat everyday if I let her. She makes me feel guilty every day

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside
from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal.

its so cool to watch the snakes eat the way they will lick it 5 times and say "hey that tastes like fish" then open their mouth and grab hold and slowly shove it down.
