    A sad week

On Thursday morning around 3o'clock i woke with ear ake and cant get rid of it yet. Friday night my Yorkshire Terrier had a fit. It's on tablets for old age.
Saturday came home to find one of my Floridor Blues dead. Dont know why, it has always been a spasmodic eater, some weeks eating ok then not taking any thing.

    Re: A sad week

So sorry to hear all that... I had a really bad week a few weeks ago....

I had an adult female checkered who was doing great, feeding great, just died without a struggle. (Didn't notice she was dead for a day...)

Next day my other adult female checkered somehow (and I still can't figure it out!) got out and I never found her... Crap! Now I only have one female. The one Don gave me. It was meant to be I guess! She is stuffing her face with tilapia on her own now. =) And I did just find a guy local who is gonna give me some adult checkereds.

Next day I loose the second of the Asian Vine Snakes (had lost the first one two weeks before). Appearing healthy and fine one day (hadn't eaten since I got them though) and dead the next... These had to have had something wrong with them. The first one died in 7 days after getting him. I did take a chance with these fresh imports (CB is not available yet). But yeesh. I think it was the vendors fault.

End of the week. My blue phase adult male western ribbon is found dead. No struggle. Didn't notice for a whole day... WHAT THE HECK. I loved that snake... NOTHING wrong with him! Eating, active, FINE!

I hadn't had any deaths or escapes for a few years before this... Now many weeks later... I am not having any problems at all. But WHAT happened?? It was like a spurt of death and escape??! **%#@!^*

So yeah. I know how you feel. I am a bit angry. And very sad.

Could it be that you had a disease within your collection? That seams like a whole lot of seamingly healthy snakes dying?!

    Re: A sad week

I don't know?? It really scared me!
Everything seems really fine now. It's been almost 4 weeks since this all happened. I have been SUPER careful about washing between handling and everything is housed individually, except for a couple.
I have always been really clean. I use paper towels and homemade racks and clean everyday.

All of the snakes that died where originaly WC. Although usually WCs usually acclimate great here, sometimes you can just have bad luck with them.

Really who knows! I am just going to be extra, extra careful for now...
