    psycho garter HELP!! (please)

i know that garters can be a bit jumpy but this 1 is getting 2 be a joke!
Put my hand in 2 change his water and he bit me. O.H got him out and all he did was strike at his face and hands (and me from the other side of the settee) i was told that all he would do is musk but iv not seen him do it once. He was one of the red barred garters from doncaster for £10. tried to feed him but was more interested in my fingers even when the pinky was cut in half and brained (just incase hes a problem feeder anyway)
Can anyone think of anything else i could try other than just handling him a lot so he gets used to me??

Emma, sounds like you got a real live wire there! I'd give him a few days peace, just to settle down, then (as you say) gradually let him get accustomed to you. It might be a long journey for you. They aren't usually this defensive.

It may be part of his nature. I have one female who's more interested in the feedings tongs than her food, and she's always nicking my fingers somehow and coming back for more. Try using feeding tongs for feeding, and perhaps handle her a little more in short sessions.

Hello, think it was probably one of mine that you bought..
But the odd thing is, the ones I sold have never bitten brefore??

I put the cut up pinkie in a small dish or large bottle cap etc and they eat but have never bitten.

I have had a biter before that I cured by handling with rubber gloves, (they don't like the taste!) but these I couldn't get to bite if I tried, (although don't leave my hands around at feeding time!) Sorry I am a little perplexed, not sure what to suggest other than leave to feed on his own and leave for a day or two.
