Red face I've *cough* done it again *cough*...

Something hopped its way into my heart...
It's green, it has golden eyes and loves eating those blooming fruit flies I get in the kitchen. "It" is actually "they" and "they" are two lovely little green tree frogs! Woohoo! Photos to follow as soon as I can manage it.

green tree frogs, i saw some today at the petstore, those things look so cool, but apparantly they can be fragile when young.

Re: I've *cough* done it again *cough*...

First night over and I haven't managed to kill them yet, woohoo!

The tank is sitting on the kitchen window sill at the back of the house, so no direct sunlight and my little friends encourage me to do the washing up, lol.
I did however think the temperature in the tank was a little low at 10C this morning so placed a heat mat onto the back wall. The thermometer is on the side right next to the window, where it is quite a bit colder of course but 10c seemed a bit too cold.
There seem to be conflicting thoughts on heat mats for these kind of frogs. I guess it depends whether mine are the European or American species. The European green tree froggies can be found in some parts of Germany, so they would be ok with less heat at this time of the year, but aren't the American species semi-tropical? I have to ring the shop again and find out.

Wise words, Udo, you are far more likely to be able to help anyway.

I have just had a peep at google images and the European species has a darker line alongside the body than the American (or Australian) species. Theirs is white with the occasional golden speck (nein, Udo, nicht bacon! )
on their backs. I do hope it's the European kind, I've always fancied having a "Laubfrosch".

    *goes off to examine frogs...*

Definately have white stripes. At the moment neither of them is very green, lol.
The pictures I've taken are terrible as the camera simply wouldn't focus. Might post them anyway later on.

Ooook, now one of the frogs has a brown stripe. They aren't chameleons in disguise, are they?

EEEEKK!!! And now one of them has stretched to 6 foot, walks on two legs and wears a little crown!! Sugar, I knew I shouldn't have kissed it!

P.S. Why can't I edit my posts after a while, James? Sorry for multiposting.
