    Hi all. :)

Hoping to add a garter snake (or two! or more!) to my home in the spring/summertime next year, so I'm just doing my research now.
I find forums the best way to get information, even better than FB groups.
I am wanting a similis or infernalis, I think, but that may change. Who knows.
I might go for one a little more local to me (I'm in northern illinois).

Anyway! I look forward to reading more posts here, and hopefully I'll be able to chime in on occasion (if I'm not too shy).

Nice to have you with us. If you live in the north you have T. radix available(per your local herp laws). T. radix is an awesome snake, I may be a slight bit biased on the subject of T. radix though.

What are you looking for in a garter? Size? Color? Temperament? Etc. Can provide suggestions based on your preferences, also welcome to the site.

    There.
Thank you both for the welcome!

I like California Red-Sided, and Blue Striped (similis? Seen them called "true blue garter" or "Florida Blue Garter"?)
But, I mean, they're all pretty, honestly.

Not to be a creeper, but I checked out some of your snake videos on youtube, and your snakes adorable.
I watched some of your babies eat Nightcrawlers cut up, and it was so cool to watch.
