I read your proposal, it's very well written. Will you also be considering how ecoregional differences in prey and micronutrients consumed by their prey might effect color, or is the focus more on apostatic selection? Or is the primary goal to first show there is a significant difference by ecoregion and/or sex, then try to figure out why?

I'm just finishing my grad program in plant biology; I always said I have a lot of respect for people who study wildlife because their subjects can actually get up and move around lol. Best of luck getting started on your project!

Jeff,

I am primarily looking at whether there is an initial difference between ecoregion or sex and then maybe dig a bit deeper as some further research. I am sure I'll post plenty of pictures. Thanks for the support!

That's great and admirable! I have family in Va. and recall visiting and seeing a few amphibians and turtles and a couple of lizards. The only snake I saw was a shadow (shed skin) but it looked like it might've been a racer or another large colubrid. Anyway, good luck and I will be sure to follow your writings.

Have you seen any Ophidiomyces fungus out that way? Best of luck with your masters!
