    Pinkie Mice Site

    Hi Guys!

I was just searching the web for pinkie mice, as I have finally run out. Mice Direct has not had a sale in awhile and all of the sites are charging .30 a mouse. I just found a site tonight that I was able to get 500 pinkie mice for $125.00, with a flat rate of $45.00 for shipping. That turns out to be .34 a mouse (shipping included). I am saving $15.00 over mice direct. The site I have purchased these from is SOUTH FLORIDA RODENTS.

If anyone gets any news of cheaper mice sales, please let us know. My adults are monster eaters and now I have 32 more mouths to feed!

Lol, I sell pinkies for $0.55 each up here in Edmonton. I can't produce mice for that cheap.

How long can you keep mice (pinks in particular) frozen? I've looked into these sites but I'm not sure if it's worth it for my two snakes. Especially when one, at least, will probably outgrow pinkies soon.

Pinkies last a long time. They may get some freezer burn after 9 months or so but they are still good. My garter have never complained.

I've heard that 6 months is a good rule of thumb. Any longer, and nutritional deterioration may become significant. This doesn't make them bad, but if all your snake eats is year old pinkies, it might be missing out.

I ususally get between 500-700 pinkies a year and that tends to last me (not now of course!). My snakes go thru spells fall-winter, where they don't really eat. The pinkies will get freezer burn but no one has voiced a complaint so far (that I've heard) and they seem to enjoy them just the same. This is a great deal if you have a few large snakes that can pound the pinkies and you want to save money. I don't feel bad "wasting" some when they won't eat them when I buy in bulk like this.

How young should your snake be before you feed cut up pinkies? All I've been feeding mine is talapia. I've been thinking of getting calcium powder. Is there a brand to stay away from? I 've been noticing from threads that Garters are pretty sensitive.
