Mystery Snake

While cleaning in the snake room today I came across this mystery snake. Now, it's not a mystery species, it's a T. s. parietalis - Red Sided Garter. The mystery is where the heck it came from. I'm not missing any snakes and this isn't a snake I've had. I have trouble believing it's a wild parietalis since I've never seen a parietalis in this city.

Is it possible you had a parietalis baby escape at some point in the past before you had a chance to count the offspring?

I thought that very thing but this snake's health and overall appearance doesn't lend to that idea. This snake is well fed and healthy. Not what I would expect to find in a snake this size that had started out as a new born. I've had newborns escape before and if not found soon I find them near death or dead from dehydration. To add to the mystery this snake doesn't look like any of the Red Sided garters that live outside the city. This snakes colors are great, like a captive bred snake.

Ok Steve, time for me to come clean. I secretely planted her there to see if you would notice an extra addition to your club. I see now that you are on top of things and she wasn't as ssstealthy as I tried to tell her to be Some secret sneaky serpent she is! I'm going to have to work on that aspect of training any new recruits.
