    Bad shed

My marcianus started the shedding process normally up until the very end where you would expect the skin to be shed but nothing it been a week or two now and still no shed. The skin is loose all over the body but for some reason he hasn't managed to shed. About the same time I noticed slight mouth rot on the lower jaw.

Could this mouth rot be causation or correlation to this non shed?

And what could be done to help the shed?

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.

I was about to say "watch steve's video of the shed box" ......too late on that one. Best of luck. I am fortunate to never have had a retained shed thus far.

If the skin is still loose the shed box should help. If it doesn't you may need to help by starting the shed. I had a marcianus scrub that always shed badly, but she also didn't eat and died through FTT. I expect yours is a one off if it's been shedding normally up to now.
