    new thamnophis!

    here is my new thamnophis sirtalis! terrarium 40 * 20 * 20 with a heated wire and the temperature 25 degrees. I do not use lamps .. just arrived drank and ate a fish .. Wednesday I would go to take Xenopus laevis or guppies and pinkie. thank you! tell me if the terrarium is well!

    The snake appears to me to be well under weight(skinny). I'm thinking T. s. parietalis - Red Sided Garter
    At first I thought it was a ribbon snake due to it being so thin.
    That snake could use some good meals for the first couple of months to get its body weight up. A parasite check is probably called for also.

    the photo was taken before the meal, if you want I'll send you a photo of the belly. however, still has not defecated Wednesday .. I give the Gambusia or guppy or platy .. thank you so much response! This multivitamin okay? thanks

    Before or after a meal the snake is thin and needs to put on some weight.

    Due to its size I think there may be a problem with that enclosure. Looks to me like that snake might be able to get its head in a ventilation slot. The lid might also have the same size slots and possibly some round holes that could be dangerous.

    I would suggest a larger living space. Thamnophis love space.

    if I can know the sex, I would take a couple in a terrarium 150 * 50 * 30
