    New Babies!

My husband and I went to my parents' house to bury Harley yesterday (felt like she deserved a spot in the 'pet cemetery') and ended up coming home with two of my dad's baby blackneck garters. One of them is quite healthy (named Nubbins), but one is more-or-less a non eater (named Knish) and isn't much bigger than a newborn.

I got Knish to take two guppies and some pinky bits from my hand while I was looking through the babies yesterday, so I figured I may as well see if I can get some size on him. He's tiny, but still seems to have a lot of energy, so I'm hoping he's not a completely hopeless case. I'll get pics up later today, but the size difference between these two is really astounding.

Those tiny, troubled eaters are difficult to say the least. I've had some that responded and I though were out of the woods only to have them pull a "failure to thrive" on me a few months later.
Keep use posted and good luck. Sounds like you got a great start.
    Looking forward to the photos.

He ate three chunks of silverside again tonight, so that's a good sign at least.

In those cases you were just talking about, do you find that they just stop taking food again for some reason and end up FTT, or is it a case of them suddenly turning up dead?
