    A Final Farewell

Years age I had a couple of very special snakes die. Scar and Krinkleback were both unique snakes. After their deaths I put them in the freezer and toyed with the idea of having them freeze-dried to preserve them.
That isn't going to be happening so today they were buried. I took a few final photos.
These were the best male radixes I've ever had. They were both good friends.

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.

It is fitting if they are buried together then.

Could you post some pix of them while they were alive?

Enjoy the memories of these two, I think you'll find the memories of them more rewarding than the freeze dried bodies.
    RIP Scar and Krinkleback.

    A pity.

Held a mass burial here last year, for dead ones that had been accumulating in the freezer over the previous 5 years.

This makes you realize its inevitable, and only a matter of time. So you better just make the best of the times while you have them I guess. I'm sorry for your loss man, I put away the only checkered I was trying to take care of with brain damage, I felt so bad when I was covering her outside I almost couldn't do it! =(

I hope all the others are thriving and doing well!

Steve what you might want to do (if you haven't already) is take the best photo of them from when they were alive, print it out a high res picture of it and frame it for your snake room. I suspect they would rather be remembered in all their glory that way.

If dollars are tight and you like to hit used shops you can usually find nice cheap pictures with good frames/mats for a buck or so (replace the picture with ones you print out yourself). Would be an attractive tribute to the great garters that have passed on and would look wonderful in your snake room.

Thanks for the frame advice. I'm a yard sale person and watch for them all the time.
