Does my snake want to brumate?

Hey guys, long time no see! I have an issue I was wondering if you could help me with.

For the last couple of weeks Glyph has taken to the cold side of the tank in as far as going into the water and staying there quite a bit. The temperature outside dropped but the temps inside the tank have stayed the same. Once I got cold I turned the heater in my apartment on and it dried the air up considerably. To counteract this I fired up the humidifier. Humidity is around 30%-40% and temps are all within norm. Last summer he barely went into the water, probably 5 or 6 times the whole summer. In fact I started putting him a big water bowl for him to swim around in at that time.

I was wondering if seeking the cold out is his way of saying he wants to brumate. I'd rather he didn't. Also, he is eating steadily and consistently.

It seems like he might want to, but as long as he is eating, and staying on the warm side enough to properly digest, you can probably proceed as normal.

If he is eating n pooping normal I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe offer a moist moss hide on the warm side, some of my snakes love that! Sphagnum moss is great stuff.

Everything normal there, although he was a little more reluctant than usual to take to his pinky last time I fed him...but once he did he chomped it down. It could have been anything, I move him to a feeding tank so maybe I woke him up.

    I'll do that!
