    Sleeping? lol

I walked into the room where I have my setup and my little garter was siting in her setup near the water dish... and normally she would react to me entering the room and this time she just sat there... I walked up to her and I got all close.... No movement.... I tapped the glass very lightly... and her head moved.... THANK GOD! I was so scared right there lmao! then .... I stood up... ZOOM like a rocket she was trying to hide like normal!

Was it possible she was asleep and I startled her? lol

Sounds like she was asleep I usually just check for tongue flicking; if mine aren't tongue flicking they're probably asleep. lol sometimes they'll even go to sleep when I'm holding them. Pretty cute.

Mine play games. They make me reach in and touch them before they wake-up.

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.

My little one sleep at the top of her plant all day. When it starts to get dark she does a few laps of her terrarium and goes back to sleep. She's a lazy little worm.

Yep...I've been there. Many of my snakes sleep out in the open...some of them with their heads resting on the water dish. They look as though they are just staring into space and then I tap the glass and nothing. Then I open the tank...touch them...at first nothing...then I keep touching them and bam! They look all startled and angry. I always think they are dead and get worried even though I have seen it a hundred times now! With Bella, I actually got worried last night because she must have gone into a hide to sleep and she always sleeps out in the open just lying on the substrate. But there she was this morning...cruising around!
