    Smile Petco dollar-per-gallon sale

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. My Petco in Albuquerque is having their dollar-per-gallon aquarium sale. I spot checked a couple other zip codes and it looks like it's across the board.

So, if you've been holding out on another snake because of lack of tanks, you no longer have an excuse!

Well...except for the fact that New Mexico is quite a trip for me to buy a tank! Lol. Sounds like a great deal for those of you who are close though. My local pet store often sells me used tanks for dirt cheap but lately their used tanks have not been worth the effort or money...they have a bunch and decided to start selling them but they upped the prices so that you are almost paying the same you would for a new tank.

Marnie, no PetCo up your way? That is saddness. I picked up a new tank this weekend when I saw the post of frogforum and the girl said "you don't want a 50 gallon"? If only I had the room I thought.

"Subject to local participation" and our store is not participating, third year in a row now.

Well that really sucks. Would it help to talk to the store Mgr? They have the sale twice a year, so sad for you guys.

Loved those sales when I was breeding fish. The only problem was that they didn't carry many 40gal breeders, and 20gal highs were almost impossible to find. They always wanted to sell stands and accessories with them, but I built my own stands and bought filters, heaters, and such in bulk online.

Craig's list is a great place to find tanks. So are tag sales. My daughter just found one down at my neighbors. It was in their garage and it is a hexagon-35 gallon tank with the stand and all the stuff. They didn't have anymore fish and gave it to me for free. I cleaned it up, had my husband re-caulk it and I am getting ready to set it up and possibly fill it with fancy guppies.
