    Little Cutie!

I feel that this was a sign that life goes on. After Tonya's (my old Garter who just passed) small funeral and burial, I went for a walk to clear my head. I walked really far into my back woods near the swamp area and I stumbled upon this little cutie. He looked hungry so I fed him a couple of Tonya's leftover garden worms and he gobbled them right up. I think its a male by the coloring but i cant say for sure. I just thought you'd enjoy how cute he is leetle cutie 1.jpgleetle cutie 2.jpgleetle cutie 4.jpg

No. He didn't take well to his tank mate, so I put him back where I found him in the swamp. He's probably chasing the little frogs that are everywhere out there

Colour isn't a valid way of sexing them, the way their tail is shaped, showing where the hemipenes are (or aren't), however, is a valid way of sexing them.

Though, one thing I have noticed in my area is most males have a yellow to orange stripe, while most females are brown and white. It's not always true though. Males are a lot harder to spot when they are orange and black, since they blend right in with the dry grass and dirt.

Around my Area, Usually the females are green and black, and the males are the same except with bits of orange in their checkered pattern and a bit of orange in their eyes. My little female also took a liking to him but he lashed out at her for some reason.

Some garters cant stand being around others. Snap doesn't like the boys I have, the only one she was around ever without freaking out was Ember... But he sadly passed away.
