Nice and warm, So I Went out for a look around about 3pm (UK) and found these little beauties soaking up the Rays in the late afternoon. IMAG0931.jpgIMAG0932.jpg

Oh...nice! What kind of snakes are they?

European Adders, They are the only venomous snake in the UK. The first pick is I think an adult male and the second is a neonate (Poss Female due to the brown colouration?) around 4" long. Also found a slow-worm a kind of legless Lizard.

nice! i see legless lizards at herp shows from time to time. they're such odd little things.

They are quite common here, people just don't know where to look or what to look for? I went out this afternoon just for an hour and a half and found these all on south facing banks. If it is nice again tomorrow will be out again to see if I can find a Grass Snake. I will more than likely find more Adders.

Oh that is so cool. Yes, I have read about adders...very cool snakes. Very lovely too. The slow-worm is so neat...cute little thing.
