    Radix Feeding Frenzy

Tonight was a feed night. They all wanted pinkies or fuzzies but at the rate they are eating them I decided Salmon was on the menu. I always start with my youngest or my TLC(tender loving care) group. Those two groups ate without any issues.
Then, I decided to feed one of my two older groups(almost 1 year old). As you can see the camera wasn't able to catch the action. Just imagine it in real time. They cleaned the plate in about 30 seconds. Then looked up at me as if to ask "That's it!". I filled the dish twice more before they slowed down. These guys are going through a growing spurt. I'm really seeing the females pull far ahead of the males in size. Late spring they will be separated out by sex. For now it's grow, grow, grow.

Once in a great while I will have a fight. Most of the time it's because someone got fish scent or worm slime on there back and, well they smelled like something good to eat.
I have noticed the larger females of the group are starting to bide for leadership. The largest of the group is Tourett. She will try to force the others away from the food dish but her tic gets in the way. I know it's not funny but to watch her ticking is comical. I wonder if I can put her on meds.

Are we sure these aren't related to pigs?
