What an awesome post! You are so lucky to have such a variety of phenotypes in your area. Where I am, the parietalis all look the same. Love the really like one and some of the red ones are gorgeous as well. They sure get big!

Thanks! You have to really hunt around to find the awesome ones. That is what makes it so challenging. Trust me most of the easterns I find, do not all look like some of these. But it's that one or two snakes per year, that really make it all worthwhile!

I've noticed that in PA. VERY VARIABLE PATTERNS AND COLORS. This is why I catch my garters in PA.
