    Yes, this is one of my plans. I plan on lighting the den, also. Just something to enhance the camera. The night vision side of it isn't very good, in my opinion. If and when I do this I want high quality video.

    Keeping the light on for longer periods could mess with the snakes, but I have no idea if the night vision would. From what I can tell, the light is just outside of our visible spectrum.

    edit: apparently garters are sensitive to near-UV wavelengths, near-IR shouldn't bother them.
