I have 4 pet/reptile stores in 25 minutes of me where I live. 2 of which are in biking distance.

-The stores are...Petco, Petsmart, LLLreptiles, and a local pet store.

Can I feed a garter snake meal worms? I don't know where to get earth worms, there are no bait stores near me. Do petstores sell earthworms? I could find some in my yard but it wouldn't be enough to feed a garter, I would only find 1-2 a week.

nope...mealworms are insects...they don't eat insects. places like walmart sell worms in the sporting goods depts...make sure that you feed a variety with worms...not overly nutritious, need vitamin supplements if not....also, worms pass thru quickly!! leave big messes!! I use them a lot to get snakes onto pinkies....if they scarf worms real well, roll pinkies and parts in the worms and they will chow down!

Once I get a garter, I"m planning to feed mostly minnows/guppies, and pinkies/pinkie parts.

It says there is no text on that page, but, I've read through several sheets on thiamin over the past few days. I just didn't know minnows contained it, all it ever talks about is gold fish.
