    Re: Questions question questions...

Thats easy, If you make the cover hinge just as explained, cut a small slit in the duct tape, and pass the cord through the small slit, then a strip over that to seal it up.

Snakes just love power cords, they wrap around them like a cork screw and climb right up.

    Well now.
Wayne just managed to explain that in a couple short sentences. Now even I know what I was trying to say!

Can't you just drill a hole the exact diameter of the wire, then pass it through?

    Cut it off, re-wire it.

That's better left to qualified electricians or handy folks who will ensure correct polarity on the rewire.

Drilling glass can be a challenge in itself as well.

But that's just my humble opinion...

I meant to drill through the timber of the top, not the glass.
Are there really people who can't fit a plug?

    Re: Questions question questions...

I recall a post in July from a guy who spoke of his snake getting electrocuted by touching the base of it's own basking lamp.

Since US wiring code requires that only the centre pin of the lamp base be connected to the hot side and the outer base is to be connected to earth ground, the snakes demise was undoubtedly caused by incorrect wiring.

    Re: Questions question questions...

At the onset of the conversation there was discussion of how to bridge a gap between two screen covers that fell just a couple inches short of fully covering the top.

I described a way to simultaneously bridge the gap and pass a cord through it at effectively killing two birds with one stone.
