    Caging Size

Hey all! I have been thinking of getting a garter snake and through all my readings, I have received many mixed opinions and do not know the answer.. SO I have a 20 gallon long terrarium not in use but all set up for a new little guy. I am super interested in albino checkered garters and wanted to know if a 20L would be comfortably suitable for its lifetime?

    Re: Caging Size

Welcome to the forum maa! A 2O gallon is okay for a adult animal but if you are planning on getting a hatchling or young animal you will need something quite a bit smaller. Remember these reptiles are escape artists and a young animal would be overwhelmed with such a large space. As the animal puts on size he or she could definitdely grow into a 20 gallon tank.
Stay in peace and not pieces.
