If I ever win the lottery I'm going to immediately blow it on enclosures like those.

We have the same problem with red-eared sliders here. It's not legal to buy or sell ANY turtle or tortoise anywhere in NC. It started when two teenagers got sick with salmonella after swimming in a pool with their pet turtle and they were afraid of the public safety risk. I imagine if I got a straw and snorted water from my turtle's dish I'd probably get salmonella too.
They expanded it to prevent people possessing more than 4 native turtles live or dead as a lifetime limit, but the case that started the initial law is just ridiculous!

Our petsmart might have an outside company taking care of their fishtanks too (petco is the horrendous one). The lady that works them seems to know about all the requirements for all the fish. I even saw her refuse a sale to someone wanting to buy a fish for a tank that was too small for it.

Yeah, no kidding. But that would only be because I would own a reptile shop full of them.

No but they do have them sometimes.

Maybe if they didn't buy the deluxe caging they wouldn't have to charge $79 for a royal. That's what I see around here.

Geez, that's ridiculous. To be honest, I didn't look at a single price of any of their herps. Not interested.
