I got the red sided garters from chondro, and the wandering garters from Don's Garters in Utah.

Once i knew i could get some garters, i've been getting all i can! teehee!

Congratulations on your new additions to your thamily! Also be aware that wanderings have been reported to be canniballstic, so keep them separated. I love the anery red sided, it is one of my favorite morphs. xD

Okay, finally! Everyone has eaten! The female wandering, of course, had stuffed down worms, slugs, and today ate some guppies. I just could *not* get the male to eat. Strangely enough, they both still looked to be the same size. I watched them eat though. I think the male may have eaten a small worm, once. I left him alone with it, but it's also likely the worm crawled off. lol
Finally put some live swimming around guppies in there, and left them alone. Female went right for'em. Couldn't catch them, and seemed to get frustrated, which was really funny.
Male finally ate one. Just one, and then he got upset i was hovering around. He's kind of weird. He just hides, and tries to get out. The female is already eating out of my hand and couldn't care less. I push her around the tank and she just goes for the food anyway lol
Male will freak and poo, female is fidgety, but is calm as pie when there's food around. Typical female!

My red sideds are also doing well. They will eat trout sprinkled with calcium powder. In fact, the male won't eat anything else. The wanderings wanted nothing to do with trout! little brats.

It's funny, i do play favorites with my babies sometimes. I adore my red sidedes, but these wandering garters i just want to smoosh up with adoration! All my babies are pretty cute though. But i gotta get me some more garters! : )

Yes...thanks for the update. All sounds like it is going well for you. I think we all have our fav garters. I love all of my snakes but Cee Cee and I have a special bond...she is my girl. With my babies...I would say that I am definitely partial to my eastern babies...since they were actually born here and they are Cee Cee and Seeley's offspring. But each garter of mine has something different to love...they all have their unique personalities!

glad they are doing well.... got most of my babies pounding guppies. got a couple holdbacks from my big checkered female wandering... kind of abnormal patterns... will have to post pics of them... spots are forming stripes. just short ones tho, but odd patterns
