Does anyone know when Natrix Maura become sexually mature?I can't find much information on the net.

The short version is: When they are still very small. My couple produced their first clutch at an age of a little over a year and a half, as a result of normal cohabitation.

VERY interesting, and it is perfectly safe for them to have a clutch at this size?I own a pair of CB10's I have been co-habitating them under the false assumption they couldn't be sexually mature yet!When you say normal cohabitation do you mean you didn't put them into a brumation?

No brumation, exactly. And my false assumption was the same.

My female survived it, but I wouldn't call it perfectly safe. They can do it and they do it in the wild, but I'd avoid it just to be safe.
