Manitobas Garters

It has been bugging me for so long, I see 4 different patterned garters. But some in a certain area I find more than the others

From left to right we'll call them A, B and C


A and C - 80 out of 100 times I'll see this snake while B the rest of those times

D - use serpent for example, I only find maybe once a year


The red sided is obvious, but what about the other 3?

I don't want to be confused any longer

I'm not really good at identifying, but I've seen quite a few easterns with similar patterns to C.

To me they all look like,

A. Eastern
B. Red sided
C. Eastern
D. Radix

Nothing crazy. But what do I know.

A,B & C are all sirts, d is a radix. That's the Manitoba hypervariability in full cry.

A b and c arelikely all parietalis. They don't need to have red on them to be considered parietalis!
