    Special times

I've been trying out a few new beddings for the last week and decided Care Fresh wasn't going to work for me. Too much hiding. I need to see them and not go searching, other than turning over a hide. Also, with the large groups I keep I want to be able to pickout my slow eaters so they can recieve some special attention. I have 4 groups of babies(59) on it, I pulled them out to switch to wood pellets. While I had them out I decided to feed the hungry(they are always hungrey) little scrubs. They were in a small container and it made handfeeding them much easier. All these babies were born to rescue Mothers from the same area of Coucil Bluffs and most will be released back into their neighborhoods next Spring
It is such a joy to sit and work with these little radix babies. Everyone of them is different in so many ways. They are so trusting and unshy.
Time flies when you're having fun. Before I knew it an hour and a half had gone by. Just watching this group interact with each other and myself was priceless. Some couldn't wait for food and sat on my hand so they could get first crack at it. Others waited for me to offer them a bite. In this large group I see so much diversity. Light phase, dark phase, red phase, normal phase, and all the mixes in between. My heart truely belongs to the radixes. I love all my snakes and for that matter all snakes but for me the beginning and end is radix. I'm so glad that many, many years ago my Mother put a radix in my hand. I hope to help and work with these special snakes for the rest of my life.

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.

I'm with you. We see it here in Connecticut all the time with snakes and turtles. Come'on, you can't tell me you didn't see the turtle coming?
