    I'm a huge arachnophobe, but... we actually had a pet tarantula before we had a snake The in-laws got one for my son for his 4th(?) birthday. They actually did ask my permission first and I figured what the heck. It turned out to be fine. I DID NOT handle the T, but that's not exactly something they crave anyway. It's the little no-see'um creepy crawly, drop down from their web onto your head, kinda spiders that really get my skin crawling

    EXACTLY!!! There was a garden spider who built a beautiful web between my orange tree and my patio umbrella. I would watch him from a distance as he would spin all these beautiful, intricate designs to his orb every morning. He would catch biger and BIGGER insects, and as he did so, HE got BIGGER and BIGGER! This morning he decided to greet me on my patio table; I hosed him off...LOL! Gently tho....he just got a little too friendly!
    maxmommy ( mother, grandmother, owner of a redfoot tortoise, 2 red-eared sliders, 20 firebellied toads, 3 indonesian garters and four Great Plains toads...oh, and two doxies!)
