    Consolidation on the Ranch

It started yesterday and continues today. All snakes are headed to the basement. This will make life easier on me and the snakes. It also gives me back a bedroom up stairs for my two youngest. It might also open my house up to some relatives on my X's side who have stopped coming to birthday parties because of my scrubs.(I didn't make the move for them)
I'm not sure how I'm going to get the 6 foot lond display case down the basement steps

The big room will be for breeding projects and adult living space. The small room will be the nursery. Space under the step will be the quarantine room.
If I survive I'll post some photos later.

    Re: Consolidation on the Ranch

I wanted to set up a snake room in my basement but we have wild garters living in our basement so I'm not sure if that would be a good idea...

The process continues. The 2 display case enclosures are out of the room and waiting for their descent to the basement. Taking a break to setup some bunk beds and move dresser into the new girls room. Now the basement(den) will belong to me and my snakes. Happy happy, joy joy.

    Re: Consolidation on the Ranch

I have learned that a 6 foot long dispaly case will not fit around a tight corner. The only thing that can be done is to stand the case up on its end(impossible since the stress will be in the glass), pull the bottom out and start it down the steps, keeping the top from smashing the wall and also contolling it as to not let it run me over and kill me. Keep in mind I have to do this all by myself as my kids are to young to help.

Solution: Sell it on Craigslist. That was easy.

My Husband, Steve, (who is very good at this sort of thing) says you have to stand it on its end, keep the base on the stairs and tape all the glass before you move it in case it does break.

PS: Best thing, try & find a friend to help... Can you slide it on the base until the bottom where you need to make the corner and then stand it up for the corner?
