    Cypress mulch

Is this stuff toxic to garters? I'm not worried about ingestion; just toxicity.

    Re: Cypress mulch

The guys at my local herp shop started using cypress mulch for most of their critters, including garters, and they've said they really like the stuff. They think it doesn't get as dusty when it dries as the coconut fiber. And I guess they haven't had (or known of) any toxic effects. I've got no personal experience with it, though.

I use it for my savannah monitors and my burm and retic. But I have never tried it with the garters
