    Artificial Object

I am completely new here. Just wondering about an object i bought today. Its plastic and meant to look like tree bark. Looks quite good, i was just wondering because it is plastic and has a varnish maybe on the outside...will this be safe for my garter?

    Thanks AB

The only thing that comes to mind is if it's a product of China. Lead seems to be used widely in their production facilities even after the rest of the world is aware of how toxic it is.
    A picture would be great.

It could be harmful, but so could any other decorative object that wasn't intended to be used in terrariums. People around here use injection resin (the kind used to repair structural cracks) for all sorts of purposes, including covering fake rock backgrounds. It's supposed to become inert when it's cured. It could possibly be used to seal that fake tree bark. Unless the plastic itself reacts with it.
