Wal-Mart's Canadian Night Crawlers, cut into small pieces. Night Crawlers have been known to crawl out the back end of a snake, killing the snake.

You know, mine will not eat night crawlers... they only take the smaller worms I find in the yard!!! Not sure what that's all about. Try it and see what yours prefer, Jack... just no red wigglers.

Jack, we have been feeding the "Panfish/trout" worms from wal mart for years, no problem.

Most any eathworm except red wigglers will be fine.

So, I just got some panfish/trout worms from wal-mart (dmf worm co.) and they do have banding. I didnt see the banding until I got home.
So I'm confused now. Wayne, is that the same brand that you have use for years, and are the ones you get banded?

i got some "panfish" worms from one of those bait machines...... and they looked like red wigglers..... they had distinct banding..... so i used them for fishing instead of feeding them to my snakes..... do "panfish" worms have banding too???

Re: What Type of Worms Do You Recommend?

    Dekay, you're kidding me, right?

It was the trout/panfish worms I bought first. Jeepers spit it out and would have NOTHING to do with it. I wonder if different companies? So I returned those and got the Wal-Mart Canadian Night Crawlers. These Night Crawlers are distrubuted by DMF Bait Company outta Waterford, Michigan. Hhhuummm... they have a Website. I'll check it out and see about their trout/pan fish worms.

All I know is Jeepers hated the ones I bought originally and had slimey mouth and wouldn't eat them.

    Weird.

Shanley, I did. but *I* couldn't see any.

Look at this! It looks like DMF's trout/panfish worms could be read wigglers! I don't know the latin name for red weigglers:
