Possible injury to vent. (common garter)

This guy was running () around in my front yard. We caught him and noticed what looked to be an injury near his vent. There is also an audible 'pop' in his spine that might coincide with the injury to the vent.

    Vent

    His markings

We have him set-up in a small enclosure with paper towels and a water dish. We're going to see how it goes and keep our fingers crossed.

    Good news!

She is a girl and she is now very healthy and social.

When we first held her, her tail was always stiff and she would never hold on to you. Now, she holds on and the pop in her tail is gone.

Her name is Zoey and we fell in love with her. She is a great little snake.

I can pick her up, go on the computer and sit there for hours with her. She will fall asleep on your hand. So damn cute.

p.s. She eats like a pig and is growing like a vine

    That's great news.
I see Zoey is a smart snake. Knows how to use a cell phone.
What's she doing in that last photo, calling in an order of pinkies
