Radio-telemetry to study black racer home range, movement, and habitat use in Maine

I have been dealing with Jonathan Mays from Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife filling out several MARAP (Maine Amphibian and Reptile Atlasing Project) forms.

2008 was the 2nd year he used radio-telemetry to study black racer home range, movement, and habitat use in southern Maine. He followed ten individual snakes and had six of them still with radios going in to the winter.

Looks like I got an invite to go out next spring with him and see some of the technologies they use and of course hopefully see a black racer! I am pretty excited for this.

Wow, It's boring here in Iowa. Nothing even close to that happening or at least I'm not being invited. It's probably I'm not being invited! Sounds like a great time. Makes you wish for a short winter doesn't it.

Yea that it does, I would also like to have my crisper back in my fridge!!

I cant wait everyone, hopefully i can get a pic of me and at least one of these snakes.

Talking a bit more with him he still had movement last week so not all the snakes around here are laying down for their cold winter naps.
