Lost Another

Last night we lost another one of our snakes. It was one of Stewie's girls. She had gone into her blue phase but didn't look well. I was surprised at the blue phase, as she hasn't really eaten well enough recently to warrant a shed. It took alot longer than I expected but her eyes cleared on Saturday. She didn't hide though, which I thought was strange and stayed out in the open most of the time. Last night I had noticed her eyes turned blue again and when I checked, she had passed.

This is turning out to be a rough winter here. She's now with Mom and our froggie, waiting for spring.

Thank you all for your kind words. I really wanted to cry last night because there was nothing I could do to prevent it and you could see it happening. I know most of us have been in this situation at one time or another. It just doesn't get any easier and I guess, it's not supposed to.

All in all, we have 3 very fat (and well fed) girls and 4 boys as well as Connor snake (our Dekayi) (not sure if he is a he or she). I'll have to post a picture of that one for another time.
