Unhappy Baby Garter Snakes. Now 15

Well, yesterday morning I found another baby garter snake dead. He was one that didn't want to eat. When I picked him up, I noticed there was a green spot towards the middle of his body. Does anyone might know what it could have been? Something that might have busted or...?

It is the gallbladder. It turns green after death. I'm very sorry for your losses.

Not all babies make it, even when they seem to be in perfect health, they can drop dead at any time.

It's a part of this most of us wish didn't happen, but it does.

I lose a few babies every year, no matter how hard I try, it just happens.

Sorry for the losses. Focus on the ones that are thriving.
