    US Shipping methods...

Do we have a thread on the various or even preferred shipping methods? Searching 'shipping' isn't very fruitful. I know of SYR (Ship Your Reptiles) of course, but is there a huge advantage to using them vs. just doing Fed Ex overnight yourself? Any other reasonable/legal options that I don't know about? Thanks...

Fedex doesn't allow shipping reptiles unless you are "Reptile Certified". I'm sure that rule isn't followed many times

I have used SYR many times but they are very unreliable. They are constantly in some sort of trouble with the shipping company because some a hole screws it up for everyone. In theory it is a good idea and they offer good discounts but I would recommend getting certified yourself. The only downside to getting certified yourself is that your "license" only allows you to ship to businesses. That is not something that is followed but shipping to a residential w/ or w/o a certification is the same thing.

    Hope this helps!!!

Give these guys a shout, They are absolutely awesome and I highly recommend their shipping packages, They are of awesome quality. I've used them twice now, once for inside Canada shipping another time from the states, both times were really good turn outs.

Reptile Express is awesome but as far as I know, they do not do domestic American shipments. Import and export only.

So... short of getting fed-ex certified myself... what other methods are used?

Thank you all for the input thus far & Thank you Steve for the certification process. Sounds easy enough.

Some people use the Post Office over night service, if it's available between the two addresses.
Once again I don't think the Post Office allows reptiles to be shipped but it's done anyway.

Yeah USPS and UPS will not knowingly ship snakes, but ppl still do it anyway. When it comes to shipping snakes and I think reptiles in general, your options are very limited.

So far I'm really liking Reptile Express, though I've started the FedEx process as well as applied for a membership at Reptile Express. I'll wait to see what my price is after discount at FedEx, but Reptile Express seems to be less expensive at this point.
