    Cute find

I was walking along a creek, and I came across this little girl. She's so tiny, I wouldn't be surprised if she was born on the day I found her.I didn't think she'd survive on her own, so I took her home. Given her mutations, I'm not sure whether she'll survive at all. What do you think? - She has a kink, an underbite, and she's missing an eye, but she's still incredibly cute. She's very fast and fiesty. She actually tried to bite me, believe it or not.

I haven't tried feeding her yet, but I purchased guppies and will try either later this evening or tomorrow.

If anybody has any ideas for names, please let me know.

Slugs and earthworms/night crawlers are on her menu. Not a fish eater.

She's not a newborn. Since she made it this far you have a good chance at extending her life. In her condition she wouldn't last much longer in the wild. The odds are against them even with 2 eyes. Compound that with her other disabilities and the deck is stacked against her.
Nice save. Thanks for taking the time to notice her and being concerned enough to do something.

How about the name BELL from Beauty and the Beast her being more on the beast side(no offense intended. I would take her and care for her in a second)

Awwww! Poor snake! At least it has a loving owner to love her and take care of her! I hope she survives for a long time! She is too cute!

    Re: Cute find

You've given me a lot of hope, I've become pretty attached to her already, and would hate to see anything happen to her. Thank you.

I'll look for worms and slugs, but I'm pretty sure that she's an eastern garter. Other than her disfigurements, she's practically identical to the garters I had born to my rescue female last summer.

"Bell" is a nice name, I'll definitely add it to my list for consideration.

How can you tell that she's not a newborn? (I'm not contesting your statement, I'm just curious about your reasons behind it)

She kinda looks like the dekayi that another member had found, to me she doesn't look too much like an eastern garter. I could be wrong, though. if your willing to spend the money, most stores that carry bait carry some night crawlers. you could cut those up into tiny bits for her

You are right. It is not a dekayi. Sorry about that. I was so focused on her deformities I looked right passed everything else.

    Re: Cute find

definitely an eastern garter snake! what an odd looking little baby! I have never even seen one born deformed before... let alone found one! She is a lucky snake, as I doubt she would have gotten much further in the wild.
